Shopaholism: Allsaints Spitalfields Flagship Store NYC

Steampunk meets fashion at Allsaints Spitalfields which opened it's store in SoHo just over a year ago.  The look of the store reflects the fashion inside with a dark, industrial style- and you should look elsewhere if brightly colored clothes are your thing.  Allsaints mainly uses shades, not colors, so if whites, off-whites, grays, dark grays and blacks are something you've been dreaming of, then look no further.  To go with their edgy (and perfect for NYC) color scheme are cuts and styles that blend Mad Max (post apocalyptic and rugged) with inspiration from high fashion like Rick Owens.  There's lots of funnel necks, leather jackets, side zippers and pants with drop crotch and carrot fits to go around.

Just like Converse has a giant wall of Chucks, Allsaints has giant wall of vintage industrial sewing machines, it's pretty cool.  Another unique feature of the store is the array of iPads stationed throughout the store to allow you to browse their collection catalog.  If there's an item available that is not in stock at the store, you can order it right there.  All Saints is not cheap, but the quality is solid.  Sweatshirts are in the $100-200 range, T-Shirts are between $60-80 and leather jackets, an Allsaints staple, range from $400-$1000 (a price point rarely touched by mainstream retailers).  Even if the store is not your style, it may be worth stopping by to check out the overall aesthetic.
