Momotaro and Japan Blue S/S 2013 Denim Collection

Momotaro is one of the first high end Japanese denim companies I found out about when I leapt into the world of Tokyo street wear culture many years ago.  Their fabrics are produced in the small town of Okayama and cut into jeans that are inspired by and still use many of the traditional construction techniques that make vintage American denim by companies like Levi's so desirable to this day.  For Spring 2013 the traditional Momotaro brand and their more fashion forward Japan Blue line will be introducing some new denim styles with elements like navy blue over dyes,  solid colored selvedge and chambray.

In terms of fit, the Japan Blue line will shift their emphasis to a slim tapered cut which has done very well over the past year.  For Momotaro the cuts remain true to their vintage heritage and are primarily straight and still with their iconic back pocket stripes.  Both brands will be producing pairs of colored raw denim that fade beautifully and also mixing it up with a line of cut and sew including button ups, scarves and bandanas.
