International Style at Gamine in Williamsburg
It's hard to do something really special when you're starting a new boutique in a Brooklyn neighborhood that has plenty of small clothing stores. But when I showed up at the doors of Gamine in Williamsburg, I found exactly what I want in a store: brands that I've never heard of but immediately wanted to own.
Gamine sits on Metropolitan Avenue off the beaten Bedford Avenue path, but it's clear that setting itself apart from what everybody else is doing is what also makes the shop great. The retail space itself is relaxing and cool with lots of cement, metal and glass. Complimenting the industrial and modern interior, floor to ceiling windows on both sides of the store let in plenty of light and green from the the garden out back. (which would make a great hang out spot if they choose to go that route).
With only a couple racks of carefully curated clothing, you know you'll be one of the only people in the city wearing the items you buy which is something fashionistas everywhere crave. Stylish prints, funky jewelry and beautifully cut dresses are just some of the things you'll find inside. Take a look at the pictures below and make sure to drop by if you find yourself in Williamsburg.
