New York City Releases Nearly 1 Million Historical Photos Online

You may have noticed that we love photography.  You also may have noticed that we're based in New York City.  That in mind, I'm really excited to report that NYC's government has just released a library of nearly 900,000 photos from the city's historical archives for the first time to the public.  The photos are surreal and show off the vibrant history of NYC from the mid 1800 through its prime in the early 1900's and all the way until present.

Taken mostly by anonymous figures, it was a four year undertaking to scan and publish the snaps online. The photos are all available online here and are certainly worth a long look.  I hope to make it through all of them in the next 10 years.  You can even order prints of the photographs if you like them enough.
