The Ungovernables Opening at the New Museum, NYC

The bottom line of this post is that the New Museum is cool, and you should go there if you love modern art. Last night solifestyle was invited to the opening of The Ungovernables, a triennial exhibition that presents work by young artists from around the world, some of which have never shown their work to the public before.

The exhibition is curated by Eungie Joo, Keith Haring (Director and Curator of Education and Public Programs) and Ryan Inouye (Curatorial Assistant). The art was amazingly dynamic, from a functioning tequila distillery, to a gigantic, 30 foot tall concrete sculpture that looked like it popped out of a Hayao Miyazaki movie, there was something of interest to just about anyone. Some of the work was interactive, like the floating Persian carpet people were lounging on, which is always fun.
