Givenchy Rottweiler Print Sweater, Button-up and T-Shirt
Under head designer Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy made a big splash with their rottweiler print. The bold designs which can feature anywhere from one to a pack of snarling dogs have now been used, not just on t-shirts, but on sweaters, sweatshirts, button-up shirts and jackets. The high-meets-low fashion aesthetic is not something I'm used to seeing on such an expensive brand and I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. Maybe I love the pattern but hate the price?
One thing is for sure- Givenchy is reaching a new demographic with the graphic which has been sighted on mega-star Kanye West, among others. If you need to have it, be warned that certain pieces are classified as 'oversized' where size XXS is roughly equivalent to an M. You don't want to spend $800 and end up with something that doesn't fit. Barney's and Jeffrey in New York City have the current season in stock now. Expect to pay roughly $300 for a t-shirt, $800 for a sweatshirt and $2500 for a jacket.
