Japanese Block Fair On Steinway
This year on Steinway, the Japan Block Fair was held for the 5th time and it did not disappoint. Always on point with great Japanese music, culture and food, it was an awesome little summer event in the middle of Queens to make people come out and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Japan. There were unique performances and products being sold, like anime action figures and traditional Japanese clothing. As always, the eccentric side of Japanese culture was present, all the way from cos-players to nearly naked Japanese men making noodles!
As expected, there was a big turn out from non-profit organizations raising money for the earthquake victims of Japan. It was great to see the amount of people supporting the cause. By far, my favorite part of the block fair was the food. There was a great variety of amazing Japanese cuisine, such as udon, yakitori and takoyaki all reasonably priced from $3 to $5. Check out some of the stuff I got to eat and other sights at the block fair.
