I first saw these beautiful shoes described as water shoes, but I feel that the description was somewhat misrepresentative of these shoes are. These Timberland x Opening Ceremony kicks are far from the dorky shoes that you throw on your feet when you're afraid to step on some shells in the ocean- though I see how the mesh on the shoe could lend itself to the water shoe description. I would classify these as a very modern take on a deck shoe, they're a great silhouette made using brightly colored mesh and high quality leather to separate them from the pack of ubiquitous deck shoes by Sebago and Sperry which have flooded New York City over the past two summers. As with anything Opening Ceremony puts their hands on, these shoes are very fashion forward and well constructed. But unlike a lot of things Opening Ceremony works on, the price point for them is very reasonable- set at $95 a pair.
More photos after the jump.
The Timberland x Opening Ceremony shoes are available in six colorways but 5 out of the 6 total use neutral base colors in white, grey or beige. The sixth color features navy blue as a base color. They're a great spring and summer shoe. The dark color would work well with a pair of raw jeans and the lighter colors would look perfect with some rolled chinos or khaki shorts. I can't stress enough how good these look in person, they're a high fashion design with the price tag of a regular shoe and that makes these kicks a home-run.
You can still get your pair on
OpeningCeremony.us or at Opening Ceremony stores. They're not to be found elsewhere. The sizing is true, so don't worry about changing from your regular size for this release.
