Unique New York: Winter Jam NYC

I didn't think freestyle skiing was possible in New York City, but apparently it is.  Thanks to all of the snow that's been dumped on the city, and with some extra help from some snow guns, Prospect Park in Brooklyn is presenting Winter Jam tomorrow, February 5th from 11am-4pm.  There will be cross-country skiing, an area for beginners to try their skills on the slopes, and a freestyle competition sponsored by Red Bull.  When you are done shredding and spectating, there will be hot chocolate and snacks from local producers to help you warm up.  But forget all of that, one of my favorite electro bands will be tearing up the stage in the middle of the afternoon- Innerpartysystem is scheduled for 2:30pm, I just hope the weather holds out for them.  What better way to spend a winter weekend than skiing and rocking?  Take the B or Q train to Prospect Park and bring your snow pants.
