Sneak Peek: Nike Air Force Supreme Low 'Year of the Rabbit'

Every year Nike produces a shoe to honor the Chinese Zodiac. This year the Air Force 1 silhouette was chosen for the Year of the Rabbit. Drawing inspiration from the White Rabbit Creamy Candy, Nike hit the nail on the head with this release.

Having been born in the Year of the Rabbit, this shoe was a must for me... not to mention that the Air Force 1 is my favorite silhouette.  Biased view aside, the detailing and quality of this shoe is phenomenal. A suede toebox and midpanel are set off by full grain leather on the eyestay and heel. Set upon a pearl midsole and sole, this shoe is simple yet definitely a head turner. The varsity royal and crimson colors, and the chenille swoosh and tongue tag add character to the white base. Nike also took it a step further and placed alternating colors for the outer and inner swoosh. Finally, the heel tab pays tribute to the Year of the Rabbit.

The accessories for the shoe are also well thought out. The lace locks read '2011' for obvious reasons. The insole combines everything into one, including the characters on the lace lock, tongue tag, and heel tab. Included in the box were three pairs of laces, white, royal, and red to match any part of the shoe you want.

As an AF1 supreme, the quality and comfort are top notch. If you are looking to pick up a pair, just a reminder that supremes usually run a half size large. I love this shoe so much that I had to pick up two pairs. I guess I'm lucky that Nike chose the Air Force 1 for my Zodiac Sign.
