Why Would You Buy That?: Pierre Hardy Cut Out Sneakers

About 6000 years our ancestors thought that covering our feet with leather offered us protection from the elements and prevented us from potential injury.  This season, Pierre Hardy is taking us backwards down the evolutionary ladder.  The last time I checked, I wear shoes to keep the rain, snow, and trash off of my feet, Pierre Hardy clearly loves these things, so they've ingeniously made these sneakers with lots of big holes in them so that you can literally feel the dirt under your feet.  You can buy them for about $500, or for $499 less, I'll sell you some ziplock bags that will do a better job as shoes than these will.
