Brand Profile: Madewell

                           
Madewell began as a workwear brand way back in 1937, but has recently emerged as a the source for cool. The little sister of J.Crew, this brand tends to bend towards the classic preppier side, but with a twist. Highlights for me include their scarves, which have been seen on a plethora of trendy celebs (Eva Mendes, Reese Witherspoon, and Jessica Alba to name a few). I also love their sweaters and jewelry, which has an updated-vintage feel.

Recently, British style star Alexa Chung designed a collection for Madewell which debuted in the fall at Fashion's Night Out in NYC and sold out online. She's still involved with the brand, check out her hand-picked favorite items here. 

This brand stays true to its name - every piece I've bought from this store is made of quality materials and stands the test of time. They are the perfect go to brand for the put together, yet casual look.
