Praying Gnomes and a Full Moon @ Art Show on Broadway
We've probably walked by 623 Broadway 623 times, never realizing the huge, awesome gallery space inside.
Art Show on Broadway was held in this ginormous space Saturday night, showing work by a widely diverse array of artists. From praying gnomes and skulls with afros to more classical figure painting and marble sculpture, there was something for everyone at this massive art party put on by the good people from Dacia Gallery on the LES, who represent new, emerging artists. The space was packed, everyone taking in the art on display and indulging in a few good drinks. Personally, my favorite pieces were by TD Gillispie, who paints creepy-cute dolls using bright colors and a heavy hand (see below).
