Solifestyle Does Hurricane Sandy

We've stocked up on ramen, candles and (Doraemon) flashlights, gone to our local Dunkin Donuts (the only establishment open in Queens), hoarded the rest of the Munchkins, and settled in to re-watch the entire first season of Girls. Now we're set to ride out the storm.  Does anybody else sort of want the subway to be closed for another 3 days?  An unplanned staycation might be nice.  If you do need to exit your homes or apartments we recommend a suit made out of Goretex at the very least.
