Provocative Prints from Jenny Grettve S/S 2013

When we attend trade shows, it's our job to try and figure our what is

going

to be cool next year.  Partly so we can say, 'hah! we told you so!' and partly because we want our readers to have amazing style along with us.  While we were trend spotting at Capsule for S/S 2013, plenty of brands were showing more of the same prints and cuts that we saw this year, but

Jenny Grettve

from Sweden was doing print and color in a much more interesting way.

Like many brands which don't have an established NYC retail base, Capsule was our fist encounter with Jenny Grettve, but the company has been showing and selling its clean, structured silhouettes since 2010.  The brand's director Jenny, is an architect, musician and designer and her multifaceted artistic career shows through in her collections which are characterized by attention to texture, detail and fabric choice.

For their upcoming S/S 2013 collection, Jenny Grettve has taken a print that is part risqué, part Givenchy and applied it as a subtle detail to all white dresses, blouses and tops.  The result is an interesting look from afar and a provocative one up close.  The use of the print on white makes them infinitely wearable and perfect for summer especially when layering with scarves or bags for an added pop of color.

Alongside the subtle white ready to wear,  Jenny has also introduced a bright neon element to the collection in a textured fabric that looks like an all over print.  Though much more intense than the white items, they remain true to the cuts and detailing of the rest of the collection.  The day glow pieces which include a dress, skirt, pants and a jacket are a fun way to turn heads in the summer heat.

Currently, you can shop the Jenny Grettve collection online

and with any luck soon they'll be in boutiques all over NYC.
