Futura 'Future Shock' Opening Party Recap

In his first show in over 10 years, one of the most well known graffiti artists on the planet, Futura 2000, setup shop in a massive event space in Soho, NYC.  The opening party took place last week on Fashion's Night Out but that didn't stop the show from drawing a who's who of New York celebrities and scenesters who packed the space drinking and hanging out amongst mural sized Futura spray canvases.

Everything from the loading dock entryway to the display of the pieces themselves was well executed creating a sense of awe as you step out of the narrow passage leading to the show and into the warehouse where hundreds of people were chatting and enjoying everything Futura.  The art was lit with ceiling lighting but also from behind creating a cool sci-fi feel and making sure all the attention was on the walls instead of the free drinks (as sometimes happens at art openings).  Future Shock runs until October 5th so make sure to stop by.  Check out our snaps of the show below.
