Art=Mixx Auction & Party at Openhouse

Combine alcoholic peanut butter cups, a sick jazz band from Harlem, plenty of beer/wine and an art auction, and what do you get? Art=Mixx.

This past Thursday night, Openhouse Gallery threw a bash in their brand new Nolita location, which was sponsored by HowAboutWe and featured art of all varieties (photography, sculpture and painting to name a few), and apparel from a bunch of different NYC artists. While enjoying the atmosphere and waiting for the auction to start, the crowd was drawn to the smooth sounds of Dandy Wellington (above) whose vocals and impeccable dress made him the night's champion of swag.  Art=Mixx was also a great opportunity for industry networking and we got to chill with the team from Bushwick Print Lab, a silk screening studio in Brooklyn, among others.

Our favorite pieces from the show were Julian Rapp and Paul Zepeda's Golden Love Robot Prototype and Clintel Steed's Aerial View of Philly #2  (see both below). All in all we had a great time, met a lot of cool people, and saw some awesome art. Check out photos from the event below, and like Openhouse on Facebook to learn about their future events.
