Nemacolin Woodlands Resort

This holiday season, half of solifestyle spent time at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in western Pennsylvania. After making the 6 hour drive from Philadelphia, through farmland and mountains, we arrived at Nemacolin ready for a great trip.

Highlights included the Safari Tour, in which we fed a bear marshmallows and a tiger chicken treats. They have a bunch of wild animals at the resort, like lions, zebras, and bison, which all seem very well cared for. They also have a barn full of smaller animals, from porcupines to kinkajous, which were really fun to see. My sister and I also spent a lot of time at the Woodlands Spa, where I particularly enjoyed my personalized facial and makeup lesson. My sister and dad went off-road driving, which involved driving a special jeep through a hardcore test-course and then into the woods. We also had a great time at the Wildside, their recreation center, bowling and playing pool. There were a ton of activities to choose from at the resort, and we tried to do them all. Nemacolin is fancy, but somehow also has a laid-back vibe, which made us all feel very comfortable. Overall we had a great time, and I can't wait to go back!
