Hype Makeup: Maybelline Color Tattoo

Girls are literally going crazy over these Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows, so of course I had to give into the hype and ended up buying some at the drugstore. 

I'm really excited by the idea of these - they're basically a cheaper version of the infamous MAC Paint Pots. They wear really well, and don't crease on me which are two huge pluses. However, I really wish they came in more neutral shades. Having bright teal or pumpkin orange eyelids might be cool for Erin Wasson, the beautiful campaign model for this product, but us normal girls would probably just look like freaks if we rocked a similar look in our day-to-day lives - let's be real.

I picked up two Color Tattoos, Audacious Asphalt, which is a shimmery darker silver color, and Tough as Taupe, a grey-brown color. I'm pleased with the formula, and I'm happy that drugstore brands are now coming out with different, quality products to compete with high end makeup brands. They are easy to wear alone, or as an eyeshadow base. I just hope that if these Color Tattoos are released again, they come in a more neutral range of colors.
