Suggestivism Opening at Bold Hype Gallery, NYC

Sometimes an art show can be bland - one artist, one style, too many monotonous paintings. If ever there was an opposite of that scenario, Suggestivism, which opened last Thursday at Bold Hype Gallery in Chelsea, was it.  Curated by Nathan Spoor, the title of the show is meant to convey a message about art that is possibly more than it seems, or not what it seems at first glance. Having walked through the show, his message comes across loud and clear... I mean, who knew that Mario was a member of the bloods and has a penchant for shotguns and tattoos?

Pieces in the show come from 40 young and very creative artists in the contemporary art world and the art displayed ranged from pen and ink drawings to digital paintings and large sculpture.  Check out photos of the opening below.
